Digital Rebel XTby ~StLHakusho

Customization / Icons / Dock Icons

Couldn't find a good capture icon so I made one. This is the Canon Digital Rebel XT, the camera I have been pursuing for oh...about over a year now. Until then I'm stuck with my terrible Nikon Coolpix 2500.

Anyways, the above photo tells all about the icons. 7 icons included. Just minor variations from one to the other of the various body types.
Its 256x256.

If you'd like to donate money towards my new camera then contact me, it would be super appreciated. I'll have sex with the person who donates the most money.

Save up another hundred or so and get the Digital Rebel XTi! I know, the name is no better, but you get an extra 2 MP, a 2.5 inch LCD, and little automatic sensor cleaning brushes. It also has 9-point autofocus, rather than 7-point.

Oh, I know. I've known about the new camera for about a month now. I think this was the first week I actually saw it in the sales paper though. I'l probably pick it up after Christmas if I get this new job. I have an interview set for Wednesday and I'm praying that I get it.

Oh, I willl. I'm already planning on buying two lenses for it and then a huge ass memory card. I actually went to the St. Louis Blues training camp Sunday with my friend and his girlfriend and lo and behold she whips out the XT, I nearly had a heart attack and an orgy with the camera at the same time. Oh, I want it so bad.

I want to get a fisheye lens and a telephoto lens to start off with. I haven't decided on the exact lens yet as I've been trying to avoid looking lately since it makes me just want the camera that much more.

What type of lenses do you use?

Also do you get pretty good battery life out of yours?

My battery life is fantastic. Admittedly, I carry around an extra battery, just in case, but I've never used one full battery in a single day. Some people might, but with my experience, I'd doubt it for most.

Unfortunately, I don't have the funds for a lot of lenses, so I only have the kit lens (18-55mm) and the cheapest of the Canon lenses, the 50mm f/1.8 Mark II. In retrospect, I would recommend not getting the kit lens and just using the money for a better one. The 50mm is actually quite good, even though it's really just a cheap bit of plastic; if you have the money for it, go for the 50mm f/1.4 or the new 50mm f/1.2 instead. Those are much better in terms of quality and durability, and all three are incredible for portraiture. I'm looking into Sigma and Tamron zooms at the moment. If you want general advice, look for lenses with large apertures (small f/stops). They're fast and work in low light wonderfully.

Ah thank you so much. I was planning on just buying the body, I really haven't heard anything good about the kit lens yet. When I get closer to buying the camera I'll be sure to ask you a ton of questions though.

and thats great to hear about the battery life, I was afraid it was going to have the same battery life as the ultimate camera built by man the Nikon 2500 Coolpix that I currently own *sigh* does.

btw, instead of selling yourself for the money

I mean that last part of your description, do something! I mean grab it till its hot... I worked my ass of to get that cam, and you know student life sucks...
